Terry McGill interviewed on New Bluegrass blog!
On February 1, 2009, Terry McGill was interviewed by the New Bluegrass blog on the subject of the history and career highlights of Straight Drive. This blog is one of the many wonderful, grassroots efforts to bring attention to both regional and national bluegrass talent. If you'd like to check out what Terry has to say about our group, we invite you to visit: http://www.thebluegrassblog.com/straight-drive-goes-live-on-wdvr/
Straight Drive hits the drive-time airways on WDVR!
On September 17, 2008, Straight Drive was pleased to announce the launch of the Straight Morning Drive show, which will be featured as part of WDVR's "Bluegrass Breakfast" broadcast, hosted by Susan Rose. Our segment will air every Wednesday morning, just after the 7:30am station break, and can be heard online via the WDVR website: http://www.wdvrfm.org/wednesday.htm
This format reflects our appreciation of the great live country music broadcasts heard throughout regional and national radio during the formative years of bluegrass music. Tune in and get an early morning fix of some live Straight Drive!
Straight Drive on TV!
On June 19, 2008, Straight Drive had the pleasure of taping a cable television
broadcast, “…Horses Sing None of It!”. This show is organized
by the Folk Music Project of Northern New Jersey, and hosted by award-winning
musician Ralph Litwin. This program features a wide variety of folk, blues,
Americana and bluegrass talent, and we all had a wonderful time creating this
episode. Special thanks to the all-volunteer staff who so tirelessly
commit their time, energy and expertise to support and promote regional musicians!

On June 22, 2008, Straight Drive performed at a house concert for the Borderline
Folk Music Club of Rockland County, NY . This was a wonderful
opportunity to catch SD in an intimate, all acoustic setting, and we’d
like to say thanks to host Sol Zeller and his warm, dedicated staff
for making this event enjoyable and memorable. It’s organizations
like this that help to foster grassroots support of traditionally-oriented
folk and bluegrass music, so be sure to keep an eye on their schedule
to see what they have upcoming.
Photographer Akiva Kent documented this event, and if you’d like
